19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Medvedev secured his first championship for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid season, managing just one match at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and ultimately splitting with former mentor his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set win over opponent Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first title after the Rome competition and initial on a hard court after spring of 2023.
Success also means the Russian has won twenty-one titles at 21 different competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to secure a championship is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my child her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching approach and recurring emotional displays on court had caused some to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was over.
But the player has altered his approach in the past month, striving to approach the net and compete assertively, supported by an improved serve.
The champion came back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.
Both players traded break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, took control to create a decider.
He saved four early opportunities in a close final set before the Russian won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
